This is applicable for 2013 CX-5's.

I never had music information when streaming BT audio to the headunit. Only information in the BT audio screen is BT name for my phone. Of course I do get the back, play/pause, and forward buttons though. Otherwise the screen is empty.

In this CNET video (fast forward to 2:11) for the 2013 CX-5 it shows the following:

- Song Name
- Artist
- Album

and to the left of that, it displays the track time.

I am using an HTC Amaze 4G with Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3) using stock media player. I have not discovered any settings which would allow me to stream music information.

Is everyone experiencing the same thing? Please list your phone and software if otherwise.

Samsung Galaxy SIII (4.1.2 Jelly Bean). International Version I9300
Song Title, Artist and Time is streamed ok to the screen when using the Native Samsung Player
If using another application like Pandora or Spotify or TuneIn Radio... it doesn't stream metadata.
My other Bluetooth on an Audi A3 (Parrot Mki9200) with my old phone (iphone 3GS) could stream metadata with those applications without problems.
The Radio coudl display metadata but i think is application dependant.

You have to check if your HTC Amaze ROM version supports for AVRCP 1.3 Bluetooth profile (is the responsible on sending metadata).
When streaming media, use the Player from HTC and no other media player app
If not you should install to any Modded ROM for your device (check if AVRCP is included)

I have checked this and it is confirmed that some apps don't have AVRCP implemented:

in order to get PANDORA or SPOTIFY with AVRCP support:

apk : http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1615470&d=1357281158 (It is located under NoteII subforum. I don't know if it is applicable to all android devices)

Thanks for the help. I am using the stock HTC player app and my phone is not rooted. Perhaps this is an excuse to root the damn thing :( .

I stream my music from my Samsung Galaxy II unto the Bose system via bluetooth. I use the Google Play Music app which contains a customizable EQ. I find the bass response improves a lot when turning the app's EQ feature off and adjust the EQ on the Bose system instead. Not bad considering there's no dedicated woofer. The highs and mids are good enough. The screen only displays the first song played even if its like 5 songs had already played which is weird.
