What have you done to your CX-5 today?

paris1 - New tips look great. Cost a bit to get it done right but sure looks like it was worth it.

I brought it brand new from the dealer last night. Dropped in the Weathertech floor mats.

Liquid Silver Touring with Tech and Moonroof - added the Roof Rails and Trailer Hitch as port installs.

No issues with the cargo cover so far, the selling point for me was the fact that it does swing up with the lift gate. Found it for $144 shipped on eBay, actually came from the Lynchburg Mazda dealership.

Great points and pointer to Lynchburg as a potential supplier.

Bought a Curt Class III hitch from Cabelas. They have a sale going on right now, 25% off. Before tax and shipping it was $137 I believe. After tax and shipping it came to $169ish. I had some points saved up on the Cabelas card so it only came to about $34 out of pocket for me. This also does not include the wiring kit. The cheapest I've found is around $35 for the plug and go kind. I'll post pics after it comes in and I get a chance to install it.

6/22/14: Gave it a good wash then rewashed with Optimum Wash and Wax. Looks beautiful and reaffirms my decision to buy it.

Husky Cargo Liner
Aries (Maxpider) front and rear mats (took a while to get, but really happy at how well these fit and look)
Wet Okole front seat covers (black) ordered

Thanks to the ideas in this thread, I made a dead pedal cover by cutting a cover out of an old floormat I had. Put Velcro on the back to to keep in place. Feels nice (I could tell that the normal carpet covering the dead pedal wasn't going to hold up too long).

Also, I ordered some 3M adhesive remover so I can take off the annoying dealer badges. I'm considering taking off the Skyactiv badge too, but we'll see.

This was yesterday, but took it through the local car wash and opted for the $12 Rain-X wash, which ended up being a good choice because it rained overnight. Also wiped down the dash, which I find to be very prone to dust collection.

Washed and vacuumed yesterday. Applied meguiars 21 synthetic sealant 2.0 today. Still deciding on the best product for the plastic trim. I've heard some people have used products that actually make it grey faster or streak.

One of the downfalls of white cars is that they don't "pop" after doing a polish or whatever. Its hard to tell i did anything visually, but i know its protected now anyway and paint feels like glass.

Hope to get my fog light trim soon. Its the one thing i think should have been there factory like on the concept cx5. The black plastic just looks cheap.

Edit. Just got some back to black. Plastic trim looks nice. Must admit, ive neglected it since i bought the car.

What's a Rain-X wash because I'm pretty sure on the Rain-X bottle it says not to get it on the paint?

Hello right2002: You got the bracket for the wiring harness from u-haul? Do you have a part number for than bracket? I sure do need one for my harness installation I recently completed.

Thanks

Took off some badges. First the dealer badge had to go! Sorry I don't have a before photo, but they had "Rick Case" lettering above the CX-5 badge.

After:

Next, I took off the SkyActiv badge (Love the technology, but not the badge).

After:

I'm still deciding on what to do with the CX-5 badge, but for now I'll keep it.

Next thing will be to ditch the stupid dealer plate holder once my new license plate arrives.
