What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Saw this on cx5 club. Apparently some of these lights are super marked down right now.

What I did was add some Cargo LED bolts lights.....

Due to the poor cargo lighting in the cargo area of the CX 5, and after looking at “deepfriedsushi” outstanding write up seen here in this link..

https://www.mazdas247.com/forum/sho...D-Strips-in-CX5-Cargo-Area&highlight=lighting

I wanted to do the same but with some mini LED lights.. I followed his wiring as he did a good job.. I used a four wire in one sleeve 18awg to run my wires through the body and it made getting past the rubber boot easier.. Also due to the way I wanted to wire up the switch, I used the Red/Black for the LED lights utilizing wire bridges in a series configuration, and the Green/White for the push button switch LED ring light drawing power from the cargo light. (still working that connection out.)

<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36366680001/in/photostream/lightbox/" title="wire"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4372/36366680001_7d76a63c39_m.jpg" width="240" height="180" alt="wire"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script> <a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36366679111/in/photostream/lightbox/" title="bridge"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4439/36366679111_6c80af180e_m.jpg" width="220" height="220" alt="bridge"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Parts I used:
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36107466260/in/album-72157687476598715/" title="NcQh"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4440/36107466260_8510cde629_b.jpg" width="858" height="600" alt="NcQh"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Placement of the four LED lights:
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36107467540/in/album-72157687476598715/" title="IMG_2959"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4337/36107467540_e6dbe367e8_h.jpg" width="1200" height="1600" alt="IMG_2959"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

With them turned on with only 17 lumens each LED, I was surprise its not harsh at all.. The two up put illuminate the ground and entry to the cargo are, while the two inside shine towards the floor and rear seat backs.
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/35695241063/in/album-72157687476598715/" title="IMG_2960"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4399/35695241063_78fb646b5a_h.jpg" width="1200" height="1600" alt="IMG_2960"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Led Light placement Upper Right side in the lift gate: same for the Left side too:
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36504087545/in/album-72157687476598715/" title="IMG_2977"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4432/36504087545_6f252e7bd8_h.jpg" width="1600" height="1200" alt="IMG_2977"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Lower Left side facing inwards to the floor area and seats:
<a data-flickr-embed="true" href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/3md-studio-jp/36107467310/in/album-72157687476598715/" title="IMG_2976"><img src="https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4402/36107467310_06b2d8e73c_h.jpg" width="1600" height="1200" alt="IMG_2976"></a><script async src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Lower Right Side with the 12v where I connected in for power and the push button switch. I did not want then to come on all the time, just when I needed them. (just My preference..) The button will light up blue and I am still researching how to connect it to the cargo dome light for power.. I want it to come on with the dome light (the blue ring) giving the option to turn the lights on or not. On hind site I might have looked more into the mercury switch as well... still might so when the door opens the mercury switch turns on the light.. but for now.. I'm happy, and that's good enough for me..

What I did for my CX-5 today?

Im still waiting for my CX-5. Argued with the agent asking me for additional deposit so that I will get priority once the unit arrives.

Why are you still waiting? That's ridiculous that they want more money for priority....

What tire dressing are you using? I like the look. The Soul Red Crystal looks good also!

AMMO mud tire gel. I put a heavy coat on in the evening before the the day i wash the car then i put 2 light coats 15mins apart. when i finish washing the car.

Because earliest unit for the soul red crystal gas AWD is September. I already made a reservation deposit as easy as May. [emoji22]

Last month I also made reservation deposit to 2 other dealers whoever comes first.

Ah, I think I forgot to mention. I'm from the Philippines, which is logistically nearer Japan than you guys. Hehe! I guess this is I Third World issue. According to some news, Mazda Philippines allocated 800 units of CX-5 and 300 units of CX-9. Staggering numbers. Haha!

Cleaned it ... Again

nice I love the new red color, really sharp, seeing alot of the 2017 reds in the streets now,

just happened to see this today :

new Lexus RX wheels resembles the CX-5's...

I guess the 5 leaf clover is the new trend now, CX-5 wheel design looks better up close in person, there's a curvature to it that is hard to pick up in pictures,

the Lexus one in person looks too cartoonish like a flower that belongs on a VW Beetle.....

Got my rear brake pads replaced and rotors whatever they do with those. Braking is much improved.
