What have you done to your CX-5 today?

Watch out for parts, 2014 needs different parts, than 2016.
If you would shift with manual mode, the car would be faster from 0-60?
I have the paddle shifters, but I have never drove all the way with it, yet. Mostly I downshift on slopes, or sometimes I downshift, when the car feels sluggish and I'm in a hurry.

Thanks for the warning on the paddle shifter parts. I'm not really inclined to do the mod and am really waiting for Mazda to include it in the upcoming models. (C'mon Mazda, the paddle shifters are already in the Mazda6).

I think 0-60 manual shift mode would be slower because of the human factor. The car will have to wait for you to shift and then you have to shift at the correct RPM to get the best 0-60 time.

I think the way I am seeing is the AT hangs to a gear longer, which is a tad bad for FE if you are gentle on the pedal. I am touching 29 now, hoping to try and use the pedal to quickly move to 5th at 30 mph + and then shift to D.
Really need a scan-gauge or something to see how much engine braking etc. will save and manual upshifting will. Did notice that when stopping if you have your air off - it idles close to 600 RPM vs 800 with your air on.
Trying to hit 30 and stay 30 mpg or up.

I don't think you can shift into 5th at 30 mph. I think the minimum speed for 5th gear is 40 mph. I'll try it later on my lunch break, but from past experiences I don't think it is possible.

Yes I've also noticed that with the AT. If you are gentle on the pedal it kind of lingers in one gear while you're slowly accelerating. I'm not exactly sure if this is true, but I've read suggestions that said it is better to accelerate quickly to the speed limit and then cruise than to slowly accelerate to the speed limit.

It's not hard to install the paddle shifters, at all.

If you can install a car stereo, I would wager you could do the paddles.

This is the best upgrade around for the money ($~200) for the drivability of the car. I have no clue why Mazda does not include them, they are right there in the parts bin...

My WIFE comments to me, frequently, about how much she LOVES the paddle shifters that we added.

I think that is true - maybe 30 is for 4th gear, so 30 and 40 are two speeds in my mind that I avoid, i either do 35 or 45 as soon as possible - gives me about some speed to hypermile on bumps and avoids frequent gear shifts.
Quickly speeding up is fine if you are going to do 0-50 or faster, I am in heavy traffic on Southlake / Tarrant so you just cant go anywhere, when I manually shift I am in highest gear possible much sooner than AT - AT thinks a lot and stays at 2 or 3 for few seconds longer.

It is the same exact one, as the Mazda6. I have added(for now), some ugly aluminum paddles to it. Soon, I will get the Kenstyle(japanparts) ones.

I have tested it awhile ago and on a flat road with mild throttle input, you can shift into 5th gear at 30 mph. I think if the load is higher, like going uphill, the car won't let you get into 5th at that speed.

All this talk of adding paddle shifters is making want to check it out... I also know that I might just mess it up if I DIY it LOL

Took my car for a handwash. Someone had their credit card engaged and had not hit the stop button 😂
Lets say i rinsed for free and hit the stop button. Charge was$7.xx
Actually took me a minute to realize my luck.
Neighbouring bay had some gang members blare loud music.

Err, took a photo of my car's rear ;)

Replaced passenger side mirror housing, wife knocked out a mailbox!
I had to replace that on mine 3 years ago (misjudged some clearance).

Did you have a hard time putting the door panel back on? I sure did lol!

Driver's side switches
I have tried different amber LEDs, but they still don't match, with the other one. At least, they are brighter than the ones, I have tried previously.
I have ordered, some orange LEDs this time.

Got my car back from the dealer with my new transmission....sounds better already so hopefully I don't have any more issues.

Installed the OEM mud flaps before I dropped her off but wasn't able to take pictures so here they are.

Next step is getting some Yakima Racks with a Cargo Box.
