Evo VIII Brembos Brakes and RX7 Brakes on the Protege 3rd Gen

Hello, the Evo calipers fit with some work the BJ steering knuckle but you can not use with the EVO brake discs because the EVO discs are 320mm and you need 330 discs to use the EVO caliper with the BJ knuckle. The Evo discs fit the BJ HUB only with modification, the center hole is to smal, the must be 2 mm bigger. So I take some Brembo calipers and selfmade holder to fit my 323 BA P with FS swap.

Youn also need 20mm spacers.

well, hopefully this thread becomes informational, so could you tell us exactly what you needed and did to make them fit?

I bought 2 used brembo calipers because it dosn`t work with the EVO calipers. These are the one I bought, very cheap.

I disassembled, sandblasted, painted and sealed the calipers. So they are like a new one.
The holders were very difficult to manufacture. I measured everything and let it build by a CNC company.
The EVO discs get the same center hole like the OEM mazda discs.
Than I put then only all together. And now some pics.
The braking power is incredible, so I need more Engine Power.
Sorry my english is not so good.

Definitley a nice ride man gotta love the AWD. Dammit now yall got me really considering getting rid of the ES set up I have and going this route.

i have yet to pick the calipers....wife is super pregnant so i haven't found the time.
it is still a project that i'd like to get done

i think on the protege, we have run out steam as far as buying already made parts...time to try soemthing new :)

i know this is an old post for anyone looking to convert calipers on a msp all you need is front calipers off a mazda 6. my current brake set up is just braided brake lines stock rear size slotted rotors and good pads front caliper mazda 6 oem rotors&pads. it stops on the dot very touchy as long as you rebuild your calipers every rotor change i perfer every pad change. repair kits are on ebay no more then 15 bucks.

Well I know this is a very old thread but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask a question. lol

I have a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 and I would also like to go the DIY big brake kit rout. the cheapest new setup I found was a 4 pot Willwood DynoPro for like $600 that would work with stock MS3 rotors. This kit was offered by Fastbrakes.

http://www.fastbrakes.com/product_p/fastbrakes-ms3-newdl4.htm

But then I watched a You Tube video of Evo 8/Evo 9 front Brembo brakes installed on a Speed 6 with very little modification. So I was curious if this would work for my Speed 3?

Finally, I was considering a set of used RX7 4 pot Mazda calipers that are available for a decent price on eBay.

https://www.ebay.com (commissions earned)

But I don't know if they will fit my 08 MS3 either!?

Oh and I should mention that in still running the stock Speed 3 factory OEM 18" wheels. I don't want to get new wheels but shims would be ok and understandable.

So if anyone has any insight or can direct me to the appropriate forum thread that would be great. Thanks.
