2004 Mazda 3 5dr Gutter rail replacement

I have an 04 Mazda 3 5 dr. I would like to mount a roof rack without drilling the rain gutters. Mazda makes replacement strips for the 05 and up that have a removeable "door" to access the mounting points. Will the 05 strips fit an 04? I called my local dealer and they called the factory but no one knows.

I have searched the forum prior to posting and did not find an answer. If this is a repeat thread, I appologize.

Take a look at the Yakima racks. They have some different options available for the 'naked roof' as found on your car.

Thanks, I have. I want to attach to factory mounting points to avoid crimping the weather stripping and for a "cleaner" look.

I did. I bought a 2013 Speed 3 and installed a Rola rack. But as far as 04 goes I never did find an answer. Good luck!
