AN7's Mazda2 1.5 Turbo - Build Log -

Congrats on that build man it's very impressive! shame about the con rod going though but it's a valuable lesson for all us 2 drivers on what it's going to take to start pushing out more ponies than the regular intake and exhaust set up

The boost was progressive from 0.35bar from 2500rpm to 0.65 at 6500rpm.

With this i managed to have an almost flat curve of torque from 2500 to 6500.

The motor is ready. I believe that tomorrow I will start the break in.

As I have mentioned in other threads I'm building a Z6(1.6) motor not a ZY(1.5).

Time for update.
Just after i finished the breaking in of the motor I had an accident that setted me back for 4 months, but as a phrase says, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

First of all, subaru wrx STi 550cc injectors.

Had to modify the fuel rail

Then i found stronger custom made gears and an "lsd like" differantial for a good price

Here are some videos when i first got the car back to the road at 0.9-1 bar and 215-220whp.
Polo = 250+whp
Rover with a modified honda integra type-r motor = 200whp

And an acceleration video at 1.2bar and 240+whp but the clutch can't handle the torque and is slipping a bit from 3rd to 4th:(

I like this. I'm trying to get more power into my cx-5 so bad, otherwise waiting for the 2.2 diesel to come stateside..

Another update.
With the higher boost pressure I had higher intake temps so I upgraded the intercooler:

Looks serious! What intercooler did you switch to? Now that you've completed the rebuild, do you feel like the new internals are going to hold up to your boost levels? Does the motor feel very different than before?

Awesome project. I love seeing what you do with this car.
