How to use CX-5 touring technology package headlights ?

I bought my car last month , but yesterday only I took a long trip at night . I find really hard to see during night low beam covers very close to me , I was using in auto mode.

Can any body tell how to use headlights effectively in order to get comfortable ride?

there's another thread on here about the headlights and adjusting them. But the biggest problem I see is just the design of this style headlight. Regular headlights have a much softer cutoff so the light fades away as you look higher. These have such an abrupt line that it is very noticeable and nothing at all gets lit up outside that line. I'm really afraid people are going to be raising up their lights to make them light up higher areas just because that seems more 'normal' and end up blinding a lot of oncoming traffic.
