Rally2003's Build Thread

Well after owning the MSP for almost 5 years I finally decided to start a build thread. I bought the car salvaged with a little under 18,000 miles on her. She got broken into around 30,000 miles. Around 115k rod bearings failed. It made a little glitter oil. I had to buy another crank, clevite rod bearings, and clevite main bearings. Around 120k the oil pump took a s*** while at a autoX event and made a lot of glitter oil. Still have to find out if it is rebuildable or have to find a donor block. For now I bought a friends 223k mile motor and gave it stock MSP boost for the first time. She runs like a champ even with the SSAFC. Guessing I have close to 200whp because of my number last year with almost no power mods on the dyno pushing 161tq and 159 hp.

-Catless mid-pipe

The car looked so clean!

Then the paint started chipping off and the clear started peeling. Probably a cheepo MACO paintjob.

Mods I took off or sold:
-Dual steering guage pods
-Aftermarket SMIC
-Catless mid-pipe
-Enkei EVO5

My first mods:
-Spectre blue air filter
-RalliArt racing seats (knock offs)
-Custom seat brackets
-OEM lateral links (replace the bents arms that were on the car when I bought it)
-Spay painted the calipers anodized blue
-Spray painted RH's black
-AWR 21.5mm rear sway bar
-AWR rear adj. endlinks
-AWR oil pan
-3" vibrant exhaust
-Techna braided brake lines
-Drilled and slotted rotors
-Porterfield race pads
-New Tokico blue shocks
-Tokico lower springs

I'm still trying to work out the layout of the flares on the fronts. I want to reuse the side skirts instead of making new ones, but I might have to flare out the front of that a little too. I don't want to get too carried away with designing all new one off pieces. First stock fenders and then I'll go from there.

Of course I oder a s*** ton of stuff and they forget to ship a resin. Frustrating when I have the fender off now and I don't have the right resin to make a mold (bang)

Resin came in and I made a mold for the fender. It didn't come out as I wanted it to, but another will be made. Learn from my mistakes I guess.
