    That's a very good point, I just used it because of the novelty of using one of those connectors. If I were doing it on someone else's car I'd crimp it or solder it properly.

    Cool! I don't have my diagram handy. Remind me what this is doing? Is it just ensuring that the compressor sense wire sees ground in every ON position?

    Pretty much, it makes sure that the sense wire is at less than 1.1V when the fan is on, for a full explanation click here.

    picked up everything i'll need to do this. Local radio shack had 470 resistor and 220. is the 220 ok to use?

    i know...and it's like the blower doesnt turn on at speed 1!!!

    Sounds like you cut the wrong blue/yellow wire.

    Have a good look at the pictures (you can actually see both of them), you want the wire that's part of the black climate control connector, NOT the white fan speed switch connector.
