Mazda has released photos of the upcoming all-new Mazda6,
their flagship model sporting "Kodo" design language
and SkyActiv Technology!

What do we know so far?
* It will feature Mazda's new i-ELOOP,
a brake-energy regeneration system
* The European spec Mazda6 will have a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine
and six-speed Skyactiv-Drive automatic transmission
* In the U.S., Mazda6 production will move out of the AutoAlliance plant
in Flat Rock, Michigan and back into Japan
* The images above are from the European Production Version

Nice! But I thought the CX-5 was the first fully Skyactiv model?

I thought so too but apparently the new Mazda6 is the first model to be SkyActiv from the "ground up" (or to incorporate ALL current SkyActiv tech)...At least that's via the reports I've read...SkyActiv represents a wide range of technologies from engines and transmissions to stronger and lighter steel in addition to the i-ELOOP brake-energy regeneration system which the CX-5 does not have yet...Hopefully more details will come to light in the near future.

The i-ELOOP would make sense then.

John Doonan did a talk at Mosport last weekend about Skyactiv-D and the CX-5 and mentioned how Skyactiv is a race engineer's dream because of all of the new approaches they're using. Lighter, stronger, more efficient, etc. Exciting times my friends!

Those headlights remind me of Subaru's Hawkeye Headlight. I like that a lot. Thanks for the share Antoine!

awesome. SO much like the ideas of skyactiv instead of hybrid tech. I'll take a skyactiv-G w/ a 6 or 7 speed manual pleese!

ive yet to see a skyactiv engine advertised with more than the 155hp in the 2.0L

thats not really enough to compete in the 6's market segment regardless of the comparative lightness of the vehicle.

i mean the optima, accord, and even camry have engines putting out over 250 hp with over 30 mpg..

anyone have any knowledge about this? if i am incorrect, i apologize and it will have been due to ignorance.

thats my only concern with this car, because its incredibly sexy and it will be light and have mazda handling

Good call I was thinking audi B9 A4/S4 headlights. Looks sweet none the less.

US version will have a Skyactiv-G 2.5L I4 as standard engine.
This same engine will be available on CX5 as an option.
Expect more than 190hp+ from it, targeting 200hp.
