Front bumper should come in 1 long piece. Some people actually cut that piece in half for an easier install.
I took pics of paint protected sections installed on bumper, lower hood, headlights, fogs, fenders, mirrors, and black nose piece. Also on the rear hatch (bottom and under mazda logo). You have to zoom the pics to see the film's lines.
*edit: you can tell my error on the passenger side hood near the headlight. It isn't flush while the driver's side hood film went requiring me totaper under the hood. Also the mirror kit was much to small. Otherwise good coverage.
I have the paint protection film on my cx-5. A company in Houston, Tx. called Invisishield instlled the film. This is the third car they have done for me.They also installed the Xpell headlite protection film I orderd from AutoAnything.com. Paint protection film price was $490 for the entire kit. The film covers the front of the hood, front of the fenders, entire front bumper, black painted piece between hood and grill, and both mirrors.
Looks great!
How long did it take?
You did it with one person?
It really does look nice CX-5um! and on White you cannot even notice it's there. You did a great job with that, what does the rear film cover exactly? the whole back? I can't find that anywhere.
My VentureShield arrived yesterday, waiting for tornado warning free weather before I install. I don't have a garage so I'm doing this early morning before the sun hits my side and it's still cool out. I know it's not recommended but I got no choice. Just for the heck of it I wanted to ask what just the install would cost and I got quotes of $450-700 from about 8 places for the front bumper, hood and mirrors only, yeah right like I'm a sucker. A couple of the shops wouldn't even give quotes unless i bought the film directly from them! one guy in his exact words said "I don't even bother with people who bring their own film in" so I didn't have good things to say to him after that which involved a few curses but whatever. This weekend looks like a washout so maybe sometime next week.
Wow I can't even tell you've got film based on these pics. That includes the close up pics too. Plus nobody's going to squat down and stare 5 inches away from your foglight so I wouldn't sweat it too much. Again good job.
Fog lights- If precut will be a peice of cake for you.
Headlights- keep it wet/sprayed down when you squeege plus if your squeege is hard plastic consider wrapping your squeegee with a moist towel to avoid scratching. I started on the end closest to the grill first. Once I was satisfied with placement I gradually moved on to the section near the fender. You have to do a combo of stretching and gentle heat to get it to wrap around that rectangle section that sticks out. If you mess up don't sweat it just remove and start over. If you see bubbles DO NOT WORRY lol. Its normal. The cloudiness and bubbles dissipate in about 2 weeks. I've done a headlights on 4 cars. Its normal. Good luck and great job so far.
Thanks I've been just waxing the whole car including the VentureShield with Meguiars ultimate liquid wax. Been just over a month since I installed and there's no peeling or anything still looks great. I still have not had a chance to buy and install the lens kits. Will do that soon as well.
