Shifting problems - PLEASE DELETE
Hello,
My friend just bought a heavily used protege. It is automatic and it has problems shifting into and out of 2nd gear. He will be driving and then it will shift into 2nd and he will have no power. He can put the pedal to the floor and will actually see the rpms go down and then it will shift out of 2nd and into 3rd and then the power is there. He says he found a place that will rebuild the transmission for $100 but that seems pretty low. It only happens with 2nd gear and the car is pretty responsive with all the other gears.
Any help/advise would be appreciated,
