Protege ES 2.0L ever come stock turbo?

:
2002 Mazda Protege ES W/GT Package
I have an 02 Protege ES, non turbo. I am just wondering if they ever came out stock with a turbo? If so would that be the easiest way to turbo my car? Just to grab a stock turbo from like a wrecking yard and put it on? I've priced aftermarket turbos for my car and like everyone knows its rather expensive. thanks

Mazdaspeed protege or msp, was produced from 2003 to 2003.5. It uses the same engine, fsde, as all proteges from 2001 to 2003. Only difference is calaway turbo kit. It came with an upgraded interior, body kit, and a suspension package.

different cams, oil cooler, oil windage tray (or whatever its called) are different... rods, pistons, head, and block are all the same.

So can I take the turbo kit off an msp and strap it on my es? or swap es engine for msp engine? Is it worth it if so?

is that yes to taking just the turbo kit, or engine swap, im assuming yes to swap since i need ecu also. thanks

Msp had the same cams...
And it's easier to just do the turbo no need for the whole engine. There's a write up for it just search

Hmmm AFAIK the FS-DE and the FS-DET both used FSD7s but I know veeerrrry little about msps so I'm probably wrong.

I'm more then likely wrong and must be thinkign of the fsze cams. Its not the first time and im sure it wont be the last time im wrong about something if thats the case.

its a 5 speed, gotta have a 5 speed! ill keep an eye out for an msp turbo n ecu. and tweet, i know you reccomended an ms3 or 6, but i do like the look of the p5 alot, would that have more potential or be better to waste my money on? as far as rx7, i would love to learn to drift, not go fast in a straight line lol. thanks all its been very helpful, btw can anyone suggest any performance plugs and packs?

I read a few days ago can gears were different not sure about how reliable that is.

Ms3/6 have 240-260 whp stock and can handle 500 on stock internals fsde might be able to handle 240 if your easy on it most of the time. Then after you forge and break the 300 whp barrier the transmission breaks because it's made for 110. Are cars were meant to get groceries not race. If you got the money go for it but for the 3500 it would cost to build a protege to be reliable you can find a 240sx shell drop an sr20 have 220 hp of rear wheel drive fun that won't break. With s*** tons of potential. But who wants to be like everybody else?

The FSZE has the different cam. Both MSP and 2.0 Protege Sedan/Protege5 engine's are the same motor and I mean the same. Only difference is all the turbo components, MBSP, and ECU. Of course other differences like the A/C Condensor, axles, suspension, etc but you get the drift. If he was set on going Turbo on the FS motor just tap the oil pan and get the MSP turbo kit or custom make one with the same specs. Real easy to do but I rather just opt for good running MSP and save the hassle.

I don't see on there how much the mp3 ecu advances timing do you happen to have that info as well?
