I have a 98 Protege Lx 1.5, 5 speed that is stuck in what seems to be 2 gears. It started when I lost 5th and reverse. Reverse started working again, how I don't know but in return the tranny started making noises. A friend took a look underneath to see what was up. He moved my linkage around and next thing we knew, it was like it was in 2 gears at once or something. When in neutral it is still in gear, just give it extra gas. Put it in gear and it moves. I lost reverse also. We've tried to get it out of gear and can not. Any ideas as to what I can do about my problem?

So you can idle in neutral with the clutch fully disengaged and hit the gas and move without ever touching the clutch?
