Rear Bumper Skirt Falling Off

"Issue: Rear Bumper Skirt Falling Off.What: You're about to get in and be moved when, as you walk around the car, you notice that the rear bumper cover lip is seperating from the bumper above the exhaust.

Why: Due to the heat of the exhaust that's exiting right below the lip, the double sided tape that holds the lip on begins to fail. The lip begins to fall off due to it only being held on with tape and no screws.

How To Fix: Return to the dealership and talk to them. Most, if not all, reported occasions of this problem have been fixed."

So this is happening to me right now, no chance of a warranty on it. Has anyone been able to solve this issue on their own?

Cleaning all the old adhesive off and using 3M trim adhesive should work fine, I know plenty of people do exactly that.

mazda used to have a re-application kit available for the rear skirt. talk to your parts guy. if he doesn't know what you are talking about, try to get in touch with OnlineMazdaParts.com

the only alternative, is to get some 3m trim tape, as has been mentioned. make sure the bumper and lip are CLEAN and DRY before application. use a little rubbing alcohol on the parts before application to make sure the tape will stick.

Oldie but a goodie bump; any recommendations on the best double-sided tape to use e.g. 3M automotive tape vs. gorilla tape?
