What did you pay for your CX-5?

You got 11% off MSRP, so you got a good deal there. That said, I'd like to bring up 3 points, the last one of which people disagree with, but that okay as I can't force them to be right.

1) Thank you for leaving out tax as that's a non-factor when asking "did I get a good deal?"

2) Doc fee is an above the line item as it goes to the dealer, not the state. But that's okay as you included it with you Total Sales Price - again, good going.

3) I wish people would stop think of it as "I could have got a better deal but I didn't want the hassle or spend the time/energy/effort" Trust me, they know you won't walk over $200, and most feel, "well it's only $200 on a $30,000 car" Don't tell me about 'percentage', as it's the same $200 in your pocket as if you saved $200 on a $500 TV. I look at it this way, if I asked you if you would drive to the walmart and listen to Green a Party politician for an hour, and I'll give you $200, would you spend that hour to earn $200? I would, YMMV. And the salesman know you already want the car so he'll get that $200 out of you just because you "don't want to deal with them anymore"

Anyway, yes, you done good. If you haven't bought it yet, try giving them a phone call (not in person as then they know they have you) and say nicely "we're real close, if you can find another $200 off, I'll be in this afternoon/tomorrow morning, other wise I need a few days to think about it" If he says no, then you know you got the best he'll offer, as he really wants you in there now since now, not maybe later.

Quick question as a first time buying a new car (cx-5) at a dealership and I'm looking to take advantage of the 0 APR for 60 months.

Would I be able to apply the 2020 cx-5 customer cash incentive for $1,500 as well? I've been hearing mixed messages ifI can get that discount on top.

Thanks!

According to Mazda's website, No.
Never hurts to ask. I got all kinds of conflicting info from various dealers when I bought my GTR until I asked them to put it in writing.

If I would sell my CX5 privately, and get a new one, could I still use the loyalty discount? I guess not, but I would like to ask anyway.

I have been negotiating on a 2020 GTR recently, all the while thinking I could get $1500 customer cash + 0%apr, until today when my salesman finally tells me you can't receive both incentives. I will still get a $500 rebate which brings the price to $34,454 (sticker is $36,935 with a dealer discount of $1,981) at 0%, pre tax.

Does this offer seem reasonable?

Thanks

I had same issue while negotiating the car price. They would leveraging the fact the cost would be less $1500 without the 0% APR but would not give me both. I was wondering if anyone was able to get Dealer to stack both.

Hi All, New to Mazda and looking to get a new 2020 CX-5 Touring.

Wondering if I am getting a good deal or should negotiate more off? The OTD Price is $27,080. Thank you for the advice everyone!

While that's the highest Administration dealer fee I've ever seen, it's usually hard to get them to remove that. I would however tell them that without the hundred and $25 Nitrogen tires you are ready to buy, otherwise you'll need more time to think about it. I can guarantee you that if youre firm they will take that off

Hard pass. No dealer discount? You should get at least 5% off MSRP if not 8-10. Tell them to remove the Nitro and/or charge for it. Typical dealer ripoff.

Not bad, 7.5% dealer discount, especially with a $75 dealer fee.

Unless there a lots of GT’s in acceptable colors in your area, I’d go for it. If supply is good, see if other dealers will beat that discount (via email! Never go in until you’re ready to buy.). Think reverse auction via email.

Try putting it in a spreadsheet. Here’s the Google sheet I used for my near miss this spring.

Actually - wife's preferred color. I would have loved if dealer only had the Soul Red
I overpaid for my 16.5 GT in Soul Red because it was the only discounted one in Denver. Could’ve saved $1500 if I would have taken the Deep Blue. I actually liked the blue, but my wife wanted Red, which I preferred anyway.

What is the actual monroney sticker msrp on the vehicle? You should have a minimum of 10% dealer discount off the msrp price BEFORE any Mazda rebates (loyalty military etc) with no dealer added garbage that they like to sneak into the price and change the actual factory sticker price to their pretend msrp sticker price. The $1500 rebate is dealer cash given by mazda as an engagement offer but you should be able to get 10% off as a dealer discount before that offer. The dealer fee in NY is fixed and set by law as the maximum. Do not figure this into your discount off sticker

I would pass on that deal at this point in time on a grand touring in that color that is plentiful and not that popular. You can get the GT with premium package for the same price if you try harder or wait longer till end of month but if you dont want to then offer them $1000 less and see what they say.
