Drivers side steering wheel air bag dent.

I have a 2002 P5. So... Road rage is the cause. I punched my steering wheel a few times and it dented the center of it and the emblem.

I have a few questions

1.) Could that have caused issues with it? I know that center peice is actually the air bag. Is there a chance its going to go off on me? Moreso scared because my wife drives the car and we have a small child in it as well. Don't want it to go off and cause her to get in an accident.

2.) how hard is it to replace? Looking at the service manual it looks fairly easy.

3.) Can you simply swap it out, does the computer know the difference?

4.) how expensive to get one?

Shouldn't have caused issues with it. Mine is the same way but with a slight tare from punching it (oops) ..it is easy to swap, nothing special with the ecu as it is PNP. You can find them on ebay, or google and look it up that way. But I would plan on spending $100 -$200 without shipping yet etc...
