Hi guys. This is my build thread for my 2003 Mazda Protege5 I bought from imjustagirl that I'm building into a street/track/auto-x car with first a JDM KLDE swap then a turbo.

Update: FS-DE pulled and KL swap is underway

Engine/drivetrain:
- JDM KLDE curve-neck
- OBX headers wrapped with DEI header wrap
- Port matched intake ports
- Knife edged intake manifold
- Hour-glassed throttle body butterfly
- RR Racing underdrive crank pulley
- A/C delete
- Wrinkle black painted valve covers
- PRD 8mm red spark plug wires
- MegaSquirt PNP for a 93' Probe GT stand alone ECU
- Rebuilt MX-6 transmission
- CorkSport SS clutch line
- Clutch Masters Stage 3 clutch
- Aasco lightweight flywheel
- 12" and 10" Spal slim fans
- Mishimoto Radiator
- Mishimoto coolant and power steering reservoirs (painted wrinkle black)

-Enkei RPF1's 17x7 w/ Nitto NT01 215/45-17 tires
-Rays 57 Motorsports G07 17x7 +50 (w/5mm spacers) w/ Dunlop StarSpec 225/45-17 tires
-BC Racing coilovers w/ K-Sport rear camber plates
-Progress 22mm rear sway bar
-Racing Beat MSP front sway bar
-HardRace lower control arms
-Moog Ford Escape front endlinks and Moog MSP rear endlinks
-GT Spec trailing arms
-GT Spec front strut bar
-GT Spec lower tie bar
-AutoPower 4-point roll bar
-KMR 4 point ladder brace
-StopTech SS brake lines (front and rear)
-Hawk HP+ brake pads (front and rear)
-OEM brake rotors
-Russell speed bleeders

Exterior:
-MazdaSpeed front lip, headlamps, bumper
-JDM tail lamps
-rolled rear fenders
-DGM front grill
- Roof rack delete

Interior (or lack thereof, lulz):

-Corbeau FX1 seats, Corbeau sliders, Wedge brackets
-Schroth ClubmanII 6-point harnesses
-Perrin short shifter
-TWM small "Type-R" shift knob (for my lady hands... lulz)
-Removed rear seats/belts.
-DaveB polished gauge rings
-LED dome light
-Stereo, speakers, tweeters and sub removed
-AutoPower 4-point "Race" roll bar

Nice! I look forward to seeing this. I'm curious, what are your transmission plans with that much TQ and HP?

Awfully ambitious to start a thread for a car you don't have yet. A lot can happen in 4-5 months time! lol

A lot of praying it doesn't go ka-blewey. I don't want to spend the $$$ for PAR gears. I've already got a tranny saver brace. It should be fine with that much power. If it goes, I'll just buy another G-series tranny.

I'll let ya know. They are 15" though.

Worse case scenario, I find another P5 shell. The turbo KL project will go on regardless. And Shalon and I are on the same page that she doesn't sell it to anyone else and I am only planning on buying hers.
