rearview mirror power and ground wire

Does anyone know which color wire is power and which is ground in the wire harness of the rearview mirror on a 2010 GT? I am using a stealthcord to wire my detector to the mirror and have not found the info using search. Does anyone know off hand or have the wiring diagram? Thanks.

Depending on what type of rear view mirror you got, there may be two or three PG wires.
If you have the type with HomeLink + Antiglare/Compass, then, there are three wires:
Black: ground
+ two Power wires, one is constant 12V, and the other is switched 12V.
Use a multi-meter to tell which is which.

I would like to remind you that, the rear view mirror's PG wires tap into existing wires.
If you tap into them again, you might overload the fuse. Better do some calculation before you blow the fuse.

P.S. HomeLink needs constant 12V (so you can close/open garage doors w/o turning the ignition).
Antiglare and compass use the switched 12V to save power since they don't have to function if the vehicle is not powered on.

Thank you for the info. I have the homelink + antiglare but no compass and I do have 3 wires. I plugged into the ground and then tried the other 2 for power and when my radar stayed on after shutting off the car I knew which was which. Works great but I will keep an eye on the fuse. Thanks again.

Hi, i also have a 2010 Mazda cx9 touring, bit of a different problem i want to add the mirror you have home link and auto dim, i picked this car up used from a trade in, found some things missing the rear view mirror is some generic non powered mirror that don't go to this Mazda, i want to install the correct one GNTX-453
I don't seem to have any wires up there just a small hole from the ceiling next to windshield where a wire should be, is it hard to reinstall the switched 12V line ? there is +12 wire from the ceiling lights any ideas ?
