2002 mazda protege transmission problems??

Hey guys I have a 02 p5 and I'm not sure if I have a transmission problem or if its just how the cars drives, just got this mazda and it feels like at times! That the shift from first to sencond is a little slow, not sure if the cars is like that, does any body have the same issue or expierince the same thing??any input would help thank you...
P.s. its seems like on turns/while turning it shifts perfect, just not sure how crisp the shifting should be on a regualar basis

Well you have a slushbox, thats the main problem, saps all the power and fun. Have the fluid flushed and topped off, should help shifting.

Ok I checked.the fluid and it sill looks pink, should I also change the filter?
