I think I'm gunna buy the mazdaspeed axleback, does anyone know where I can get the best deal? And if you got any comments on the muffler itself, let me here 'em.
-Thanks-

The axleback muffler sounds kinda ricey. It's a nice looking piece, but for the price you could probably get a full axleback that would sound a little better. Just personal opinion. Take it for what it's worth.

I just put mine on a few weeks ago. love the sound...not "ricey" from what I can tell....but maybe our definitions aren't the same. lol

Depends on what the rest of your exhaust consists of. Stock manifold with stock catback with just the accessory axleback... not much of a fan. Add a header, it's a bit better.

if you are referring to this one

its not ricey AT ALL. I dunno what it is with people on this forum but they really got a bad definition of Rice in their their minds lol. I got it for $130 and sounds great. This was years ago and im guessing 200 is the norm now. Ebay catbacks are good for the price but crap out in a couple years TRUST ME. I put it on the car just to give it a nicer tone

I am enjoying the Mazdaspeed axle back on my p5. It looks really nice, and I think it sounds nice. It definitely has a deep sound, so if you are worried about a tinny sound, this muffler will not have it. Also, I think the factory exhaust is fine for a stock, or even modified FS-DE (header, midpipe, etc). Hell, its the same exhaust on the Mazdaspeed Protege. The factory muffler is the most restrictive part, and it was just too quiet for my taste.
This is probably the cheapest you can find it in new condition. https://www.ebay.com (commissions earned)
I bought mine from a forum member for $100 shipped.

Thanx guys, I was lookin for a deeper tone And I dont want a rice can thats too loud. Ive looked at all the videos and I do like the sound of this one, so Ill probably just buy it in the next few months. I hate the sound of the stock exhaust.
