This section needs a sticky with stock wheel info and alternate options info!

Post 2 has all the info and links to pictures for the CX7 and CX9 wheels.

I thought this might be helpful for those wanting to try different size tires for Winter or other season.

Also, below I will provide some helpful links.

Post #1 and #2 updated with information. Mod can you please update the title to my updated title in post #1?

If you go to a 22 inch rim, what does the offset need to be. I was looking at a 265/40/22 setup?
Thanks

It depends on the width of the 22" wheel. If you provide that info, you can calculate the range of the offset that will work based on the stock width and offset.

Lately I have noticed many 2010 or later CX-9s with the earlier 2007-2009 18" or 20" rims on them. Were these rims available after 2009? OK i just read this thread above and it looks like they were available on 2010s. then the wheel design change was for the 2011 and later.

Anyone have a set of the 20" 2009 rims for sale?

In order to add to the very useful information in this thread, here is a handy website to calculate the changes that would occur when going from one rim to another. Tells you change in clearance, speedometer change, etc. I have used it a ton when looking for different wheel options:

LOL. NO !!! OEM wheels are usually very heavy. Never had stock wheels under 25lbs. My last 18s where 25.5lbs, were only 7" wide but had comparable amount of spokes to cx 9 stocks. I am guesstimating ...min. 26LBS for 18s and probably 30lbs for 20s

s***, my OEM FD wheels are only 13 pounds. My 6 wheels were like 18 pounds, The RX8's i currently have on my 6 now are only 20 pounds. Hell, the heaviest ive ever owned was my Speed3's which were 24 pounds.
