Help - NO Diagnostics

After replacing engine I have NO diagnostics. Checked by leaving gas cap off. Doesn't throw codes. Engine light not burned out as it lights when starting. I have starting idle problems as per other post. Need diagnostis to figure out starting idle issue and for future.
Any ideas? Thanks

Try unhooking the maf sensor and see if it throws one. I left my gas cap off with the lid open oneday somehow and it didn't throw a code

Unhooked wire to coil. Barely ran but No code.
