Mazda2 reliability - better info

I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that included actual repair rates. So in late 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age.

Thanks to the help of Antoine and this forum, for which I'm very grateful, we've had excellent participation by Mazda owners, and so have been providing reliability information on most Mazda models for some time. I've love to do the same with the Mazda2 - just a matter of getting enough owners involved.

Participants simply report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, at the end of each quarter.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Mazda2, for free. I'll share results for the Mazda2 in this thread after each update.

A few owners have signed up, but more remain needed to get it included in the survey.

We've started providing initial stats for the Ford Fiesta.
 
Signed up too. I got the same message, maybe more will sign up and we can start tracking reliability.
 
I'm in as well. My guess is there's not enough Mazda 2 owners out there yet, so few cars & only a fraction of the owners even find out about the survey. Wonder if there is a time limit on when owners signed up until either the survey starts or they purge the participants?
 
Sorry for not replying sooner, just saw these posts. We won't be purging anyone. Fifteen now signed up, so over halfway to the minimum. If a half dozen more owner signed up I'd go ahead and start the Mazda2 in the survey.

30 2011s and 4 2012s now signed up. We'll have some stats for the former with the August update. We might not have quite enough participants for a full result--a few more could make a big difference.

With a reported repair frequency of 10 repair trips per 100 vehicles per year, the 2011 Mazda2 has rarely required repairs so far. The sample size was four cars short of the minimum--a few more participants would be very helpful!

We have an updated reliability stat for the Mazda2 based on owner experiences through September 30, 2012.


With a reported repair frequency of 6 repair trips per 100 vehicles per year, the Mazda2 has rarely required repairs so far. The sample size was two short of the minimum, so this stat is asterisked and only visible to members on our site.


We'll have further updates later this month and in May. We'd love to provide more precise stats and cover more model years--just a matter of getting more owners involved!

Just signed up. I haven't had any problems with my car, but everyone (problems or not) has to sign up in order for these stats to be accurate! I suggest everyone else does the same, it only takes a couple minutes.
 
Thanks, I've tried to make it quick. The quarterly survey is little more than an approximate odometer reading if you have no repair to report.

Hey fellas and ladies I'm new on this forum but not too Mazda. I'm a tech at Mazda from what I've seen the 2 has no had many issues other than the regular maint. Some small issues have come in ie; belt tentioners but other than that nothing.
