I'm replacing the rear struts on my '02 P5. The car is from upstate New York, and everything is rusted. The strut-to-hub bolt threads are in pretty sorry shape, and I'd like to replace them quickly.

Does anyone know the bolt length and thread? I think it should be something like M12, 1.25 or 1.0 pitch, but I don't have a bolt here at work to measure.

thanks for any help.

bolt size found

flange head capscrew, m10x1.25x65mm long

Unfortunately, that fine thread makes these screws very hard to find. Best to get them from someone who sells oem parts for about $9 per bolt and $3 per nut.

Not really. In fact, most of the bolts for foreign cars that O'reilly's and Advance Auto stock have the 1.25 or 1.50 thread pitch.

I would be careful with a non-auto parts store. You want to be sure to get a grade 10.9 bolts (It will be stamped on the head), and Ace may not carry this high grade.
