Lowered in Northern Climes ...

Hello everyone,

Just curious for those that have lowered their 5 with H&R or something equivalent, and what their driving experience has been in the snow.

I am really itching to fill the gap by lowering the 5 and throwing on 18's for summer, and switch over to 16's for winter. The only thing holding me back is whether the 5 will become a shovel during the snowy months.

Any/everyone please chime in!

Thanks

Like all cars/winter conditions, it depends.

What are your winters like?
Where do you live? (urban/rural/suburbs)
How low will you go?
Do you have alt. transportation available? (public transit)
How flexible is your schedule?

If you have only the 5 as transportation, live in an area of heavy snowfall with delayed removal, and must use the 5 every day, no matter what, then skip the lowering plan and just go with 18's but get the tires in 45 aspect instead of 40 for more wheelwell filling appeal.
