Hey guys, power steering pump is dying on me. I dont want to send it out if its a easy fix. Is it an easy install? difficulty level?

He only hard part is pulling off the pulley. I have a special tool, but you should be able to get a loaner pulley extractor at the parts house. Just be sure to let the pump prime for a few minutes before turning the steering wheel.

So I just have to buy the pump without a pulley since im only replacing the pump not the pulley. correcT?

Check out AutoZone.com. They had one shipped to me in 3 days and I think was $168, and also got $30 of that back for the core. Free shipping, and they threw in a $15 gift card since my order was over $100. Granted it was remanufactured, but has a lifetime warranty. Worked great. No need to pull the pulley off. It comes with it. Just need to steal the reservoir off the old pump.

*edit* Just realized you have a protege. Not sure if that pump is the same as the MS6 or not.
