Can the front section of the rear diff be seperated from the rear with out a problem??

i take the bolt off behind the drive shaft and all the bolts around it and it should slide off?

I'm pretty sure you don't need to remove the big nut as the front section (the coupling unit) is splined to the actual pinion shaft inside the front of the differential and will slide right off when you get all the bolts out. Make sure you disconnect the connector.
