Snow chains or cables on MS3?

Hi there,

I live in CA and will be taking my car to the mountains this weekend. I seem to remember that we aren't supposed to use snow chains on the MS3. Can anyone confirm.

If no chains, would snow cables be a better option. Anything I should know?

The reason snow chains are said to be a no-no is because of clearance. If you get smaller tires you can run them.
