How To: Ebay FMIC

do you need to use a BOV when making all this intercooler piping, or can you just keep the BPV. Right now im running a forge BPV.

you would have to get a fitting attached to the boost tubing as well as the tubing itself, but you could do it however you wanted. I'm merely using the SSQV in recirc now, effectively the same as your forge, just with higher flow capacity.

that air box is genius, love it. ill post some pics of my old fmic set up i thought it was pretty easy, used a cxracing kit...

My question is : How do you actually hook up the core to the crash bar ? I mean exactly ?

I have relocated the power steering line behind that center pillar but i dont know how to bolt the core....maybe with some anchor to put in the four holes already there...?

depends. mine came with L brackets... I fished bolts INTO the crash bar after I drilled holes... theres any number of ways you can do it... its just mechanical fastening. do it however you want to.

Yes on the cold side.
I have a 28'' core with a 90 deg coupler on the cold side and i'll pass my piping all way up in staight line to the TB. I dont have the smic anymore but the big fan is still there.

So the only way to do what i want with the piping I have in hand, is to pass where that dryer is sitting.

get that fan off and use a slimline... taht fan is doing you no good without the SMIC.

as long as you're careful you can move the dryer down.

Yeah, i knew you were going to tell me to get a slim fan. lol
But it's not possible to keep the stock one even if is doing nothing ??

Where can I get a slim fan and for how much?

ok so i was just wondering how u guys have so much clearance behind your bumpers? i cut and welded supports on my bumper beam and it looks like the pipes will hit the fog light indents and the IC is mounted about just as far back as it will go...any input?

my cold pipe routing goes under the fog light bucket... hot pipe doesn't even get to that area using the current less than ideal routing..

my setup goes through the firewall before both fogs...i have 90 degree adapters on each side of the intercooler and it goes right in beside the radiator

hey all,
my first post here on MSP, learning alot so far but still noob :). I got msp 2003 all stock, he only thing i got is Injen CAI.

Im interested in this project but will this interfere with my CAI? I got the links to piping, which intercoller do i get for msp (dimensions)?

Thanks,
Jas

the routing I used will interfere, however, you're welcome to go with a different cold pipe routing and keep the CAI. personally, I don't believe (opinions differ) the CAI gives you any gains over the SRI...

I recommend about a 26*5-6*3 core. but you can do whatever you want with those dimensions, as there is plenty of space.
