How To Change Manual-Transmission Fluid

I'm about to swap the gear oil on my P5, about 110k on it...I just want to confirm, it's totally ok to swap the gear oil on these manual transmissions? I always hear the stories of "don't ever change your transmission fluid (gear oil), it'll mess up your car" - is that something particular to automatic transmissions only?

In his instructions he stated that a minimum of 2 jack stands so my guess is he wanted the whole car level and used only 2 jack stand to level it with the curb.

Would save you some time jacking the car up too!
