Block Heater for 04 Mazda 3 in Northern BC?

I recently brought a second hand 04 mazda 3 GS. Is the block heater an optional part for mazda 3 back then? Where can I find it if it is there??

I'm temperarily moving to prince george this winter. I was told a block heater is a must there. Anyone has an idea if it's necessary?

The heater is dealer installed.

I would suggest getting on installed. I believe it can be done pretty much anywhere or DIY.

Having a cracked is to much of a risk in PG.
