Had the strangest car-related thing happen this morning. Got in the P5 like I do every day to head into work. Key in the ignition, turn, nothing happens. Like it has a completely dead battery. Glance up at the dome light, it's on. So the car does have power. But the odometer guage doesn't show the miles on the car, instead it displays this cryptic readout:

Like capital Es with the top horizontals missing.
For some reason I decide to open and close the driver's side door. The odometer reverts to a normal display, showing the car's mileage. Turn the key, it again shows the error code, nothing happens.
Open the door again, close it, mileage shows. NOW the car starts. And it's been fine since then.
Has this happened to anyone else?
