And just look how happy it is about it!

the "it's so happy" thing

Ahhhh, and here I was thinking I was being clever... (hand)

Anyway, that is good news with regards to the crash rating. Mazda typically does a good job making safe cars. I've seen some pretty bad accidents in Mazda 3's and 6's and more often than not, the passenger compartments stay pretty unmolested...

yes it is good news for sure! They do seem to be very safe cars and I know I feel safe in mine

Very impressive...

The all-new Mazda3 has received a "Good" rating - The Highest Possible - given by the IIHS

This car in 2010 has a better rating than all the other years. I bet sales will increase now knowing this, since people want a safer car. Most people drive crazy. I love the ratings. Good=5 right?

That article is a bit misleading as side impact results have not been released yet. Depending on whether side curtain airbags were included, the previous generation scored 3 of 5.

Note the frontal impact ratings are similar between the current and previous generation:

Doesn't the GT come with side air bags? I thought that they did and that is why the test scored a 5.

Without side air bags, the previous generation Mazda3 scored below average. With air bags, side impact rating was average. Front impact score is the only data available for 2010 models so far.
