Mazdaspeed2oo35

600whp - 600wtq at 30 PSI
After removing the engine head to replace my bad head gasket i have decided to move to a higher stage to gain more horsepower also in a more and effective way. The performance shop that is going to do my next build are specialized in World Rallye cars and hi performance engines here in Spain, after few hours of planning, measuring and calculating they have come to the conclution that we have the supported parts and engine management to produce well beyond the power the car were producing before to be exact 474.8whp and 390 lbs torque, at 26 P.S.I using methanol Injection. They have planned our next project.

* 0.20 Custom low compression Racing Pistons 8.0:1 (made in Germany)

* Engine block and crankshaft work to shops performance specs

* They are also doing some work to the Turbo to make it spool earlier and to be more powerful up top.

* ARP Head and Main Studs.

* Custom Quad-Metal Bearings (made in Germany)

* Custom made to specs performance head gasket (made in Germany)

* Complete DOC B FS-DE Performance oil System

* AWR deep sump oil pan

* 4 new OEM Mazda Engine block Oil Squitters

* Custom Racing engine oil cooler (made in Germany)

* Custom Racing transmission oil cooler (made in Germany)

* Lighter Engine Pulleys (made in Germany)

* 505zoom Intake Manifold ( made in USA ) lol lol

* ACT Custom made Xtreme Pressure Plate with also Custom made 6 Puck Racing clutch made to order by ACT, according to them this Clutch and pressure plate were made to hold over 500 lbs of torque.

The Shop that is doing my car also makes Custom LSD's, as well as custom Straight cut gears, we are going to replace my OEM welded LSD for a custom made by them, also all of the gears in straight cut with custom ratios, and a taller 5th gear, they are also doing some work to the transmission case in order not to crack or break it, something like PAR offers for the casing of the Transmission.

The project have been set to run a constant and efficient boost between 2 and 2.5 bar, if not mistaken that's between 30-35 PSI of boost on methanol and around 600whp+ and over 450 lbs torque... I'll post specific specs and info once we start this new project of mine but basically they are going to build a Racing Track car to be driven on the Streets..

I'll post pictures later when i go back to the shop.

Thanks guys i really appreciate all of you guys support and words, they help me to keep going and to keep representing all of my USA Mazda Protege brothers here in Europe. Some might think I'm insane by spending the money i did and the money i will this time, but i know once again that at the end will be well worth it..

Did you ever figure out those piston problems you asked me about in that PM?

We are also going to do some adjustments in the suspension because i'm going to track this car this time, they want to make this car a Track headache monster, and a street driven devil. I'm also waiting for price on some 14" racing brakes from Germany as well.

According to them they want my car to be their shop image in shows, track and competitions as a full interior car and daily driveable since nobody owns this car in Spain and very very possibly in europe legally registered

Got your PM. Hate to say it, but those guys are MAD shady ever since day one.

I watched some of your videos... Um... You need better brakes man, with a car that fast, you NEED a BBK. Trust me, best investment I ever made.

WOW your next build is going to be sick!

Goodluck with everything!

Do you plan on tracking/road racing the car?

Actually yes, I'm going to Track this car, we have some nice tracks in here In Spain, also i want to do road racing as well.. when ever the car is done and fully adjusted engine and suspension wise i'm going to test drive in on a Private Track this people have to test their asphalt rallye cars..

Yea Maxx, I'm also getting a quote from a German company that does these people's Rallye Car brakes. i want some 14" front brakes, and maybe 13" for the rear, but it all deppends on price and if they can make my E-brake work for inspection purposes. also in the very near future and also according to the price the shops give me, they are going to work on my fenders to run on wider wheels and tires, i want to run like 265-40-18's in the rear and 255-40-18's up front with Racing lighter wheels..

Thanks man, this time is going to take me longer to do my build but i want to do it right from the first time, plus i'm going to invest a nice amount of money again and also that takes time as well. but i'm pretty sure it will be again well worth the money, blood sweat and tears... I can't wait to see how is going to come out and what numbers we can finally achieve !!!

No need to be Jealous bro. I'm just Trying to keep this Protege dream alive. most of the people give up and move to other platforms, but i want to keep representing all of the people that owns a regular Protege to a Mazdaspeed here In Europe where we are even more rare, not to mention i'm the only one Nation wide with one..

Don't bother with the "wide body" fenders. It looks UBER dumb. The brakes though are a must. I'm running 13.1" directionally vented rotors and six piston calipers (i think you've seen them?) it's a one off Wilwood setup for the protege. The 13" rotors on the rear I found to be too much. There's not nearly enough weight in the back to make them even close to effective, even with EBFD... Some nice rotors and grippy pads out back are more than sufficient, ubnless you add another 8-900 lbs over the back wheels! :D
