Thought i'd share a timeline of my car's progress. I've been here since the beginning and my car has had several changes over the past 7+ years. I'm the original owner of my car which I picked up in November 2001, here it goes;
December 2001
Stock with dealer added mid-wing and leather.
April 2002
Lowered with H&R's, I remember the exact date when I did this. It was the Saturday of Easter weekend, had it done at Max Motorsports.
May 2002
New rims
Summer 2002
Darknights, This was my first time out with toprotege. TWM was kind enough to choose my car for their free short shifter install. In return I had to sport some decals at the show. The friday before we all met at Jason's house for the install. Notice the mesh lower grill. I aslo added an MBRP axle back exhaust.
February 2003
Carbon fiber tails, I bought these from a booth at the auto show, they had pretty much just come out so of course I had to get them.
Onderground lip & grill, these were the only affordable options at the time, either than the Autoexe stuff $$$. Test fitting shots.
Summer 2003 MOM
By then I decided to ditch the stock foglight and opt out for the catz yellow lens fogs.
Winter 2004
By then I was ready for another change, I decided to ditch the carbon tails in favour of some jdm tails and a set of Hella hid headlights $$$, which are still going strong today.
Spring/Summer 2004
Autoexe replica, there was a groupbuy here on the rocketz lip so I had to jump on it, much better than the other lip.
Spring/Summer 2005
Yet again I was ready to change up the look, this time with a new set of rims. I wanted to do someting different so I went with gold with polished lip. Sometihng I hadn't seen a lot of on a yellow car at the time. Along the way I tried out a seto of M3 led mirrors as you can see in the last photo, they didn't last very long. One of them broke in a car wash the following year. Did most of the engine stuff this year, CAI, obx header, unorthodox udp, Racing beat catback, MP3 ecu to name a few.
Fall 2005
Painted the stock rims, yet another beginning of a different look. Went back to stock grills as well.
Spring/Summer 2006
I fell in love with the erebuni spoiler and had to have it. Having both mid-wing and that was a no no. I had the mid-wing removed and the badges shaved, except the mazda logo. The whole chrome theme was dying on me, i wanted to switch to black, so I did. Started with the headlights, later in the summer painted the rear valance.
Spring/Summer 2007
Was looking for more black accents to add so I added a rear bumper step plate, black latch cover from sevsev's car, and foglight delete's. Side molding were also removed. Also switched the fibreglass lip in favour of the more durable dg motorsports urthane lip. I also tried out some rx7 bumper lights but quickly went another route later on.
Winter 2008
Couple of minor changes, added the accord smoked bumper lenses and tried out some 3000k hid bulbs but have since gone back to a more stock looking 4300k.
Spring/Summer 2008
Went back to an autoexe replica grill painted semi gloss black and tinted the clear portion of the jdm tails to complete the yellow/black theme.
Of course there is many other things that I did along the way but chose not to get into complete detail, mostly suspension and audio/video. That's where my car stands to date, I don't intend to do anything real drastic to my 7+ year old 161k+ km car anymore. It still runs as good as it did brand new and I've not had any problems with it. Even the egr and water pump are still original. All i've done are fluids and brakes, that's it. Thank you for viewing my timeline, I hope you stayed awake.
