Question about my subwoofer...

Hi guys, I'm a newbie when it comes to anything related to audio, but I basically have a tight budget (~$300) and trying to add a little more bass than my current stock system. I was recently able to pick up an Infinity Reference 1050w 10" subwoofer http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1081050W/Infinity-Reference-1050w.html?search=infinity+1050&tp=111 in a small sealed box for a very good deal off a friend, but I'm stuck on what I need next.

So I am planning on upgrading the deck Kenwood MP438U for $100, and I understand I need either a mono or 2 channel amp? What's the difference and which is the better deal? Also how many watts should I be looking for in the amp? (800-1000w?)

Lastly, I plan to install all the stuff with a friend. Will I need anythin else other than the harness, wiring kit, speaker wires? Is there a need for a capacitator or fuse block? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot guys!

I just installed mine with a friend on friday :D

Try and match the amp RMS with the sub's RMS. You only need speaker wires if the speaker isn't wired/attached to the box yet. The fuse etc. comes with the wiring kit.

Then you need to find a way to get the wire into your engine bay to attatch to your battery. Mazda is awesome and put a plastic plug in my firewall, so i had absolutely no issues getting through there.

If you need any other information, check my thread about this here: http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123724494
