How to (perm) mount trickle charger?

Haven't opened the hood yet, but guessing the battery box is just big enough to fit the battery only. Enough room or can somehow safely mount the charger on top of the battery and be able to close the lid? Then just drill a big hole in the top of the lid for the extension cord?

That's all I've got. Otherwise they want to charge me $60 for the install. Not mechanically inclined and don't want to make a huge mess around that area either (cutting, drilling, filling...)

Your best bet would be to buy a reliable trickle charger such as a "Battery Tender", it should come with some "permanent connectors" you can attach to the battery posts, and then just plug the charger portion in when needed. The Battery Tender is a smart charger, and no overcharge the battery once its gets fully charged, especially if you plan on not using the car much but want to keep the battery up. Isn't the one you linked to a "solar charger", where would you put the solar panel????
