95 Protege DX CEL After 93 Octane

The gas station I went to for some reason was out of 87 Octane so I went and put 93 knowing it shouldn't make any difference. After putting it in I got a check engine light about 3 minutes after I began driving. The car has 150K miles. Is it possible to get a CEL from the 93 octane? I've had CELs come on and off periodically but just wanted to know if 93 could've caused it. The car drives normally, no sounds or anything.

I have a 97 and put 93 for several years, then gas went up and switched over to 87 which I should have been putting the whole time. I only put 93 because I could fill my car with about $20. ANyways I think it is just a coincidence and you should go get it scanned at an autozone and see what is is.

the 95 protege has a half assed obd2 system it might be able to scanned. I dont know for sure if it has the connector. But it isnt solely a OBD1
IDK why it would throw a code after the switch to 87 tho.
