Coilovers Vs. Standard Shocks/Struts

So I had been pretty set on just getting some Tokico HPs or Illumunas and Eibach Prokit Springs and being done. Then Prototype put the idea of coilovers in my head. I came across Rogue's post on his BC Coilover install, saw the price of them and started re-thinking things.

What I haven't been able to find is any sort of Pros and Cons list pitting Coilovers vs Standard Shock/Strut combo.

Does anyone have any input?

The biggest perk on coilovers is adjustability, adjustability, adjustability (aka tunability)....

You can set the ride height and spring rate return (by means of compression); pair them with adjustable dampers (hopefully) and you can adjust the damping as well.

With a fixed spring/damper setup, it's just that: fixed for all circumstances and environments/situations.
