911 updates leaked

Over the past few months spy photographers have spotted plenty of prototypes out testing for the next-generation 911, but we now have some information on the changes that lie beneath. While the 911's update will be more evolutionary rather than revolutionary — which is par for the course for the 911 nameplate — the changes promise to make the 911 even better.

On the 911's exterior, the front and rear fascia should see a slight revision, including new LED lights, smaller fog lights and a new exhaust system.

But under the 911's skin is where the real changes lie. According to Car, the 911's 3.6L and 3.8L Boxer-six engines will receive the same direct-injection system Porsche added to its Cayenne SUV in 2007. The 3.6L unit will see a 20 horsepower bump — totaling 345 horsepower — and the 3.8L powerplant will now be rated at 385 horsepower. But even with the power boosts, look for the engines to improve fuel economy by 10 to 15 percent, thanks mostly to the new direct-injection system.

The updated 911 — expected to bow this fall — will finally receive a dual-clutch gearbox. The new system — dubbed Porsche Doppel Kupplungen, or just PDK for short — will be derived from Volkswagen's famed line of DSG gearboxes.

The 911's brakes will also be upgraded, which should help manage the increased power.

Porsche will also spruce up the 911's interior with revised switchgear and a new steering wheel.

It's expected that the new 911 will make its debut at June's London Motor Show.

Edit: How's that?

Eww....?
Nothing impressive looking to say the least.
Older 911's ftw.

Older 911's ftw.

It's not that i don't love the look of the 911 lineup. It's just that i would like to see something a little different. Something different other than the head light or fog light being changed.
