My wife jusy got a shiny new Mazda3 2008.5! Very nice. The one thing she didn't like, however, was the pokey-sized rearview mirror. So like the wonderful husband that I am I bought her a Self-dimming mirror with a compass and homelink.(on Ebay - so it's mine!) And herein lies the problem. I bought a 0000 8C Z02, which it turns out to be designed for cars without rain sensing wipers. Hers (of course) has these marvels. I purchased the appropriate mounting kit (0000 8C L06) and was hoping to get it installed by a local Mazda dealer, who may be able to find a work-around for my error! However they tell me the fact that the mirror is 'wrong' is an insurmountable problem, (even though the illustrations in the installation docs supplied with the wiring harness seem to show the self same mount on the mirror!)
Do I have any options - can my mirror be mounted - any advice??
