I have the towing package on my CX-9. My boat has the 5 - way flat wire plug so when the vehicle is in reverse the brakes do not engage. I found an adapter to convert the vehicle plug but I need to splice it to the wire for the backup (reverse) lights. I found the wire in the tailgate door by the lights but that doesn't help as the door needs to open and close. I need to be able to attach to a wire where it can go directly to the existing electrical trailering connector. Hope someone can steer me in the right direction
