Redbull.com announced that Rhys Millen will withdraw from the first ever back flip in a truck attempt this coming New Year's Eve due to an unfortunate accident leaving him with three broken vertebrae in his neck and two compressed and broken vertabrae in his back.

The incident took place after Millen successfully completed the flip three times into a cushion of cardboard boxes. It was the fourth and final jump test that landed him in the hospital. The truck apparently overshot the landing area and hit the ground. Rhys has left a statement on the Redbull website quoting his disappointment but at the same time relief that he will walk again.

GTChannel has been following our friend Rhys Millen's challenge but we are glad and thankful Rhys's injuries are non-threatening. We hope he will be back sliding around the tracks in no time.
