Honda Nov Japan Auto Output -5.7% On Year; Mazda 12.5% (first)

TOKYO -(Dow Jones)- <WSODTAGGING WSODIssue="147753">Honda Motor</WSODTAGGING> Co. (7267.TO) said Wednesday it cut domestic production in November by 5.7% on year to 119,269 vehicles, its third straight month of declines.

<WSODTAGGING WSODIssue="27287">Mazda Motor Corp</WSODTAGGING>. (7261.TO) said separately its November production in Japan rose 12.5% from a year earlier to 96,500 vehicles, rising for the fourth consecutive month.

Honda slashed domestic production as domestic sales declined 3.9% to 55,610 vehicles, falling for the 11th month in a row.

Its exports rose 9.3% to 59,310 vehicles as shipments to Asian markets and the U.S. increased.

Its overseas output climbed 20.5% to 243,777 vehicles as production in China jumped 48.0% to 51,869 vehicles.

Mazda, an affiliate of <WSODTAGGING WSODIssue="104092">Ford Motor Co</WSODTAGGING>. (F), said its production in Japan grew on increased output of its CX-7 and Mazda CX-9 sport-utility vehicles, as well as the recently redesigned Mazda2 compact.

Its overseas output in November fell 10.8% to 26,091 vehicles while the company's domestic sales were up 2.3% to 18,799 vehicles, thanks partly to the new Mazda2.

Its exports expanded 9.8% to 73,519 vehicles as it shipped more vehicles to Oceania, the Middle East and Latin America.
