Anyone have pics of adult or kid's bikes stored inside ?
The pics from Europe of the 5 concept had a mountain bike upside down with the front wheel off with one second row seat folded.

I don't know if you're still looking for a response, but I thought I'd say that we've been able to fit my bike (a Trek Navigator 2.0) with the front wheel popped off, my 8 yo's Trek Mystic also with the front wheel off, and my 3 yo's Jamis Laser with training wheels on plus 2 kids in child safety seatswith only the 3rd row seats down.

We're still trying to figure out what the best way is to tote the bikes. If the whole family (4 of us - 2 parents, 2 kids) want to go biking, we have to take 2 cars in order to fit all of the bikes. From what we've read so far we can put a rear bike rack on our '94 Toyota Corolla but not our 2006 Mazda 5 without voiding the warranty - is that right?

A rear bike rack voids the warranty? I was planning on using my Saris Bones rack ( http://www.saris.com/p-175-bones-3-bike.aspx ) with my new Mz5 - is that a problem? Saris says it fits the Mz5 - but it's what Mazda thinks, I guess.

I thought that's what several of the posts had said when I was reading. Maybe it's using a class 2 trailer hitch that does? Not sure. Hopefully someone here can point us in the right direction.

My dh just fit all 4 of our bikes into the M5 with room for the 4 of us as well, and then some. Apparently he disassembled some bike parts. I'll have to check if it's photo-worthy. :D

I met to post these photos sooner but here are a few photos of standard red and white Home Depot plastic containers.

Thanks Mike - a very useful link indeed. At least I know I could get a hitch - but it would be am extra expense.

My rack doesn't use a hitch - it rests most of it's wieght on the rear bumper and uses latches to the rear hatch to stablize it. It worked very well with my Windstar - and Saris, the manufacturer says it can be used with the Mz5. I'm thinking of starting a new post on it.

Thanks Again!

Cargo Cover Options?

There is a 2nd set of covered holes (same size) behind the original cargo cover ones. They seem to be for the interior plastic bolts but there may be another use if you want to recline the 2nd row seats further but still keeping the cover in use ;)

Thanks for the pics coolmazda5 - I guess that helps resolve the issue. It's interesting the instructions with the cover made no reference to a second set of slots. Personally, they don't really buy me anything - it would only be helpful if it was behind the third row and allowed me to stow it there when that row was up- but I think the car is too narrow already at that point. Probably why they didn't do it in the first place.

Opel Zafira vs Mazda5 vs VW Touran

Von Deutschland ;) but no worries, these are exactly the same car choices we have in NA, LOL

Just FF to minute 5:39 to see the space options. The Zafira looks like a mess to configure but is biiiiiiig.

^^ Bwahaha, and the 3rd pic, OMG, priceless. At least you don't have to worry about finding parking for your ride (lol2)

How do you call that? RUI? Riding Under the Influence? (cheers)

Ok, shot of our Mazda5 filled with kids and bikes:

Don't know how safe this is.

Even the potty fits in there 'cuz you never know when you'll have to go...
