CX-9 Picture Thread

In the detailing world we call it "DSO" dealer swirl option.

Hahahah +1! That's why whenever I take it in to the dealer and they go "We'll give it a wash!" I go, "NOPE". I do NOT want anyone else touching my paint.

A few months ago..

Really nice stance on your 9!! I noticed in another thread you said you were on air? Fully custom then? I think we'd all like to see more pictures of your build... I always wondered if someone would put the necessary plumbing in the area under the rear floor and make these a modern "wagon" for us poor suckers who can't get a 6 wagon in the 'states anymore.

Excellent shots colnago! Really like the star effect you got off your DDM HID's (2thumbs)

I'm new here, just picked up a new 2015 GS AWD(Canadian) in Meteor Gray Mica. 00' MPV is now retired and sitting.
Optional Fogs, F/R Splash Guards, All weather mats F/R and Cargo Mat (Large).
Absolutely love it, and hope I get 15 years out of it just like the MPV. Already learned a lot from lurking this forum.
Time for an Oregon road trip :)

Heres a pic after removing delivery plastic and hitting it with Macguires Cleaner Wax, Yellow Wax & Rim Wax:

(Same dealer, both bought new on mothers bday)

Plan on protecting a few things (door handles & lights) with 3M clear vinyl, and getting a LeBra for road trips.

I just picked up a new '18 CX-9, so I thought I'd share some shots. Love the car!

I know, it needs a wash already.

Congrats on the new ride Srad! I too purchased a CX-9 just a couple of weeks ago. It's a nice upgrade from the CX-5, but everything still feels very familiar.

Please let me know if you ever venture to install paddle shifters in your CX-9. That is the one thing I am missing most between my CX-5 and CX-9.

Nice ride! Congrats dude!
Thanks, I'm really happy with it.

Ha, yeah I've actually been researching this myself. We kept our CX-5 so my wife is having fun with the paddle shifters now and i'm a bit jealous! I've been cruising the japan catalogs and parts warehouses to see if there are any OEM paddles listed for the CX-9 but so far no luck. I did find a catalog today for the CX-8, which makes me think that the wiring "should" be there in the CX-9...but I don't have enough data to pull the trigger on that mod yet. If I do try to do it, i'll post up.

I too kept the CX-5, which is great, but I do find myself reaching for the paddles in the CX-9 and then realizing they're not there. :p

In looking at the Mazda 6, it seems to have the same type of steering wheel, but does have the option of paddles (See this image). I'm wondering if we could simply use those same parts from the 6 for the CX-9? Or do you think it's not that simple? I'd think there would be commonality between these sort of models when it comes to something like a steering wheel, but that could just be wishful thinking...

I honestly think the steering wheel will be the easy part. I agree that there are very likely interchangeable parts between models where the back panel, paddle connectors and paddles can be sourced. The part that has me concerned is the wiring at the base of the steering column. If the open pins on the harness do not exist on the CX-9, then it doesn't matter what we do to the steering wheel, we still wouldn't be able to control the transmission. So I think that's the critical component to verify. At some point, I may just have to take it apart and check visually, but I'm hoping to find some evidence of it online before I go digging.

Here are some shots of our new '17 CX-9 with our 2016 CX-5.

I had contemplated a grey CX-9, but decided to get something very different to our Titanium Flash CX-5.
