What are you trying to do? If you want to sense RPM and your device can be set for a "1 cylinder" engine, you can tap any one of the coil wires.

Or you can open the gauge cluster and tap right off the original tach.
 
trying to hook up the function on my turbo timer, were the tt sets up how long to run itself instead of me tell it a prescribed time
