I just completed my manual transmission fluid change. When I drained the existing fluid, it was "dark cherry cough syrup" in color. It looked like automatic transmission fluid. I did some research and that color fluid can be used in manual transmissions, but I found it odd.
So, I started to add the new synthetic transmission fluid (Motomaster), and the color is amber. Also, the color of the Lucas tranny fluid is yellow.

Has anyone else noticed the color of their tranny fluid? And what have you replaced it with?

When I changed mine it was dark brown, I replaced it with 50% Lucas stabilizer and 50 % semi-synthetic 75w90, I noticed a difference right away, smoother shifts, but at -40 in the winter it was like shifting in molasses, Fun times.

Winter is done here, hopefully. As the smooth shifts, I agree.
